Strength and Honor Fund
This scholarship fund was established in the memory of Lance Corporal Andrew David Russoli, United States Marine Corps. Andrew was killed in action as a member of the Marines while engaged in combat operations near Nasser Wa Salaam, Iraq October 20th, 2005. Andrew wanted to serve his community once his enlistment was completed by becoming a member of the Oak Ridge Fire and Rescue Company (ORFRC) and serving as a firefighter. Andrew was never able to fulfill his dream of becoming a firefighter, but through the generosity of his parents a scholarship fund was established to help members of the Oak Ridge Fire and Rescue Company or other firefighters fulfill their dreams. Andrew’s legacy of “Strength and Honor” continues to serve all of us by assisting those who continue to serve the community.
The purpose of this fund is to provide monetary scholarship assistance to qualifying Oak Ridge Fire and Rescue Company firefighters or other firefighters as the governing board sees fit for their education or to qualifying children of an Oak Ridge Fire and Rescue firefighter as the governing board sees fit for the child’s education.
Donations to the fund will be accepted from family members as well as the general public. Donations may be made at the offices of the ORFRC located at 8325 Linville Road, Oak Ridge, NC 27310.
